Managing Effective Meetings

Most organisations recognise that they could benefit from improving the quality of their meetings. We designed this Managing Effective Meetings Workshop based on requests from clients for full 1 day Workshop materials that linked several of our experiential learning products to this important topic. Like our other 1 day Workshops, this product provides 7 hours of content broken down into flexible modules where up to 16 participants can develop their skills in planning and running powerful meetings. Existing RSVP Design toolboxes provided in this Workshop include:

In addition we have created a new activity just for use in this Workshop:

Charity Challenge - This is an extended opportunity to use the Managing Meetings skills in a realistic business situation. The background is a management meeting in a charitable organisation, in which the CEO is chairing a meeting to make a business decision.

All these activities are used according to the facilitators guide provided (and alongside the re-printable delegate workbook) to develop management skills in
the skills of planning and running powerful meetings.

A full powerpoint presentation is also included and the workshop provides useful tools which participants can take back to their own business situations.

Workshop Objectives

• To understand the range and purpose of different types of meeting
• To recognise the importance of planning and preparation in the success of meetings
• To understand how to use agendas and pre-work to prepare for meetings
• To practise the skills of effective ’chairing’ and meetings management
• To develop strategies and skills for generating ideas in ’creative’ or problem-solving meetings
• To develop strategies for decision-making and reaching agreement
• To consider how to record, action-plan and follow-up the output from meetings

This Workshop can be delivered directly by any competent trainer or facilitator without the need to design any further review, linking or background content, and is proven through several years of development and use by RSVP Design facilitators.
