Focuses on helping individuals to believe that they can learn - thinking about ways that they've learned in the past and ways that they can continue to learn and change in the future.
Focuses on helping individuals to build skills in linking different concepts together and seeing the 'bigger picture'. It identifies specific and relevant actions, behaviours, and strategies used by those who have developed this aspect of learning power. In a world where accumulating information and facts is easy, meaning making, and making connections to productively use acquired information is key.

Focuses on helping individuals to build their creative thinking and innovation skills, to explore the value of playfulness and a willingness to experiment and to take risks.
Focuses on helping individuals to understand the concept of resilience in terms of learning power, and building their capacity to preserve when the learning process becomes difficult, or indeed to recognise that there is an alternative way to proceed.

Learning Support Relationships
Focuses on helping individuals to become more effective at building and using strong professional and personal relationships that help them in learning successfully.
At RSVP Design, we base our Learning to Learn work around 7 dimensions, aligned to work that was originally completed at Bristol University's School of Education, which researched the factors that make great learners. Each of the original researchers, Ruth Deacon Crick, Guy Claxton and Patricia Broadfoot, developed these original themes in different ways but the basic dimensions provide an accessible and memorable framework for anyone involved in developing learning capacity.
The seven dimensions (an orientation towards change, critical curiosity, the ability to make meaning, creativity, resilience, strategic awareness and the development of appropriate learning relationships with others) can all be developed through exposure and practice. This set of Learning to Learn modules can be used to raise awareness of the importance of these learning skills and to rehearse them in a safe environment.
Learning is an active and demanding process and offers challenges, enjoyment and reward but also demands effort and resilience. The ability to learn is crucial to our success in education, in employment and in building satisfying social and professional relationships.
In an environment of rapid change, our capability as learners enables us to adapt and modify our behaviour according to the changing demands being made upon us. ‘Learning to Learn’ is a metacognitive skill, that requires learners to think about the learning process in which they are engaged. They need to understand their own learning strategies and to find ways of enhancing their capacity to learn.
