Unfortunately, we do not always have the best weather here in our Scottish headquarters for outdoor training programmes, but for those of you who do, we have put this pack together for you.

The Outdoor Pack consists of four of our most popular, engaging and active experiential activities for outdoor use for our customers who are lucky enough to have good weather and can run outdoor training Workshops. Of course, these activities can be used in a large indoor space as well.

The activities included cover a wide range of learning objectives, from team building, leadership, communication, and problem solving skills, and are discounted when purchasing them together in this package.

The Outdoor Pack covers a wide range of learning objectives, from team building, leadership, communication, and problem solving skills, and individual activities are discounted when purchasing them together in this package.

Webmaster

Webmaster explores how participants work together in an organised, and effective manner under pressure to solve a problem. This seemingly ‘easy’ task quickly becomes demanding as participants need to use effective communication and planning and monitoring to adhere to the time frame to improve their performance.

Team Balance

This is a flexible activity that can be used to practice or attempt many managerial, leadership, change, or project management skills, and other team tasks. It is an ideal activity to be used in repeated, short duration throughout a ‘theory intensive’ programme.

Helium Stick

Helium stick is a fun but challenging opening activity to any program that is looking at team development! It is an excellent icebreaker and can be set-up and run anywhere there is space for a team to stand together. This version is extremely portable - packed away it is just 37cm long, yet opens out to 3.65m!

Keypunch

Keypunch is a group team building, strategic thinking and problem solving activity, where participants need to touch numbered markers in numerical order within 30 seconds, and with other limiting factors.

Webmaster

This activity offers two options that allow for use in various spaces. The simple choice of working with a 2-section or a 3-section construction means that tight spaces can be used, or large spaces can be exploited. Teams have to work out how to assemble a set of coloured metal and rope components in order to make a structure identical to the black and white design pattern they have been given, and there is only one solution. Once the structure has been built a strategy needs to be developed in order to allow the team to disassemble the structure and rebuild it in a two minute time-trial.

Team Balance

Participants must work together to manipulate a series of balls through a labyrinth. The labyrinth board is held off of the ground by strings all around the board, by each player, and the ball is manipulated purely by the forces exerted through each string. A great activity for getting a group to begin exploring the components of teamwork, and to embark on first experiments in how changing those components can produce different results.

Helium Stick

Helium stick is a very simple, but powerful activity that helps a group to explore what to do when things don’t go quite as well as intended! It is an excellent icebreaker in teamwork / teambuilding events and can be set-up and run anywhere there is space for a team to stand together.

Keypunch

In Keypunch, 30 randomly placed, numbered markers must be touched in order by participants in a marked out area of approximately 7m x 7m. This requires a team to set up and refine a task process, in order to be able to deliver excellent team performance under time pressure. There is a physical element to the task but this can be minimized by ‘working smart’ rather than ‘working hard’.
